A SERIOUS assault on a 45-year-old man in Tranent yesterday evening is being investigated.
Police Scotland received a report at around 6.30pm of the incident between High Street and Lindores Drive, in the alleyway behind The Fraser Centre.
Enquiries are ongoing and police are appealing for information.

The 45-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment.
A resident told the Courier: "The police were out there for some time and taped off the alleyway for some time; it looked really serious."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.30pm on Monday, November 11, we received a report of the serious assault of a 45-year-old man between the High Street and Lindores Drive area of Tranent.
“Officers attended and the man was taken to hospital for treatment.
“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact 101, quoting reference 3135 of November 11.”
