YOUNGSTERS from The Compass School have paid tribute to those who lost their lives during conflict.
Remembrance events have taken place throughout East Lothian in tribute to those who gave their lives for their country.
This year – with the discovery of the Field Cross of Sydney Macdonald of Northrigg Farm at Morham – a stark reminder of war was given to the gathered crowd at Garvald Church when Pipe Major Colin Pryde played The Men of Morham in front of the memorials.
The cross was taken to St Martin’s New Cemetery, Haddington, on Monday, where pupils from The Compass listened to pipers from Knox Academy playing in tribute to those from the Commonwealth who died in war.
Flags of all nations were laid around the Cross of Sacrifice by pupils.
