VOLUNTEER Centre East Lothian (VCEL) is planning to extend its office building in Tranent.
The centre has submitted a planning application to East Lothian Council to construct a new single-storey extension at the rear of its office at 56 High Street.
The extension would add 51 square metres to the building, which would continue to be used for office purposes.
The proposal also includes internal alterations to the existing structure.
On its website, VCEL says that it provides "support and opportunities for voluntary organisations, social enterprises, individuals and volunteers across the wonderful region of East Lothian".
Urban Design Limited, acting as an agent on behalf of the volunteer centre, submitted the proposal.
The extension would not affect vehicle access, public paths or rights of way.
There would be no new or altered water supply or drainage arrangements, and the site is not in a known flood risk area.
The planning application was submitted on behalf of VCEL on November 5.
