A MAN has admitted carrying out a serious assault in Tranent.
Stuart King, 39, assaulted Liam Browne by repeatedly punching him to the head and pushing him on the body, causing the man to repeatedly fall to the ground.
King continued to punch Mr Browne on the head as he lay on the ground, all to his severe injury, permanent disfigurement and permanent impairment.
The attack took place on Tranent High Street on April 30 last year.
King, currently of Hamilton Avenue, Haddington, pleaded guilty to the assault when he appeared in the dock at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last month.
He was due to be sentenced by Sheriff Kenneth Campbell KC at the city centre court last week but the case was deferred to later this month for reports to be prepared.
