AWARD-WINNING author and historian Dr Steven Veerapen is the guest speaker at Haddington’s History Society next Thursday (November 21).
James VI and Daemonologie is the topic for the spell-binding talk and will explore how James VI's fascination with witchcraft prompted the infamous North Berwick witch trials of 1590-91 and the writing of his notorious study Daemonologie in 1597.
The talk takes place in the town’s Holy Trinity Church from 7.30pm.
All are welcome; £3 for non-members, free for full-time students and school pupils.
