PLANS to demolish a bungalow and build two family homes have been withdrawn.
The proposal, submitted by B & Y Developments Ltd for the Davanmore site in Longniddry, sought permission to replace the existing single-storey building with two modern homes.
The application, first received on October 17, was validated by the council on October 22.
However, after a consultation that took place on November 6, the proposal has now been withdrawn.
The architectural firm behind the design was Jones Robbins Tobin, from Edinburgh.
The Davanmore site, located on Gosford Road, is part of a residential area with different architectural styles, including primarily two to two-and-a-half-storey homes.
The area also offers proximity to local amenities such as parks and schools, with access to the coast.
The withdrawn proposal highlighted homes designed with "sustainable" elements, such as air source heat pumps and photovoltaic solar panels.
The design aimed to integrate the new homes with the gardens and community.
The intended materials for the homes included light grey zinc roofing, light brick, white render and vertical timber cladding.
The proposed layout featured L-shaped courtyards and a connecting wall to provide privacy and continuity between the two homes.
An energy strategy incorporating sustainable technologies and a landscape strategy focused on privacy and maximising garden access were also part of the proposal.
The plan aimed to address the increasing demand for family homes in the area, creating modern, "ecological" residences.
