NEW plants are brightening up the front of Rannoch House, thanks to hard work from volunteers with Tranent Wombles and a kind donation.

The group, which carries out litter picking in the town and supports community projects, has worked to create a new pollinator-friendly space at the front of the building on Ormiston Road.

Rannoch House is used by Masonic Lodge Nisbet, which made a donation to the Wombles and helped to the support the work.

Planting tubs either side of the front door were donated by East Lothian Council amenities team.

The front of Rannoch House. This is a new addition to a list of several projects undertaken by the Wombles, as the group works towards creating a pollinator pathway through Tranent.

Members have already transformed two small plots on Lindores Drive, which they named the ‘Pollinator Parklet’ and the ‘Saloo Bed’, the latter of which was given the name due to its position between the Salvation Army Shop and the public loos.

The group has also recently transformed part of Foresters Park into a new garden space.

The Wombles are keen for businesses, organisations and individuals to join in with the creation of the pollinator pathway.
