A 61-YEAR-OLD man has died after getting into difficulty off East Lothian's coast.
Emergency services were called out to Thorntonloch, near Dunbar, yesterday (Saturday) morning.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland confirmed an investigation was now under way.
They said: "Around 11.25am on Saturday, November 2, we were called to a report of concern for a man in the water at Thorntonloch in Dunbar.
"Emergency services attended and the 61-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, however, the death it is not being treated as suspicious.
"A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
HM Coastguard also called for RNLI and Coastguard teams to attend the incident.
Dunbar's all-weather lifeboat John Neville Taylor launched from nearby Torness Power Station, while the inshore lifeboat David Lauder launched from Dunbar Harbour.
Both boats were on scene shortly after noon and began a shoreline search from Torness to nearby Thorntonloch.
Coastguard teams from Dunbar, North Berwick and Eyemouth were also in attendance.
Both lifeboats were stood down at 12.20pm and returned to Torness and Dunbar respectively where they were refuelled and readied for their next service call.
