POLICE are taking steps to try to stamp out trouble on buses in East Lothian.
Earlier this year, police were called out to Tranent after three buses were allegedly damaged amid concerns about youth-related anti-social behaviour.
Police have since been working with staff from Lothian Buses in a bid to combat the issue.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland confirmed that a joint patrol involving bus staff and members of East Lothian Community Action Team (ELCAT) was carried out on Monday evening.
They said: “This is in response to a number of reported incidents of anti-social behaviour.
“These patrols are scheduled to run throughout the year and the public are encouraged to report any incidents to the bus driver or direct to Police Scotland via 101.”
