RUNNERS are being urged to take a break from unwrapping gifts on Christmas Day.
Organisers of the Lochend Woods parkrun have confirmed that they will be holding parkruns on both Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
Parkruns – non-competitive five-kilometre runs – take place across the world.
The Dunbar run takes place at Hallhill Sports Centre every Saturday at 9.30am.
A spokesperson for the Lochend Woods parkrun confirmed that they were looking for people to complete the run and also volunteer on the day.
Taking to social media, they said: “So in between feasting and tearing open presents, if you'd like to gets some fresh air, exercise and wish your fellow parkrunners a happy Christmas, it'd be lovely to see you.
“We'll looking to fill up the volunteer rosters, so if you want to volunteer for any of our festive parkruns, or indeed any week, email lochendwoods@parkrun.com”
