COULTERS is set to move into the former Scotbet shop on North Berwick High Street after doubling its number of staff and trebling its listings and sales.
In January, Scotbet, the only betting shop in the town, closed after serving customers for more than 30 years, leading to many rumours of which business was going to moving into the unit.
Estate agent Coulters already has an office on the street, located at 27 High Street, and is now set to move into the former bookies at 118-120 High Street about 100 metres away with the aim of expanding its "presence" there.

The estate agent, which has recently grown from three staff to six, is planning to move into the empty unit in early January, with Coulters informing the Courier that its sales value had increased from £8.2m last year (January to the end of October) to £29.3m this year.
Sophie Duns, area director of East Lothian for Coulters, told the Courier: "The former Scotbet shop is a far bigger unit and we need that as we have doubled in size for staff.
"At the moment, we do not have enough space for all of our listings on our windows and the move would give us the opportunity to give our staff more space and expand our presence on the High Street.
"We have outgrown our current office and are planning to be moved into the unit in early January after work is completed inside."
A Coulters spokesperson said: “Coulters are thrilled to announce that we have secured a new office on North Berwick High Street, which will be opening its doors towards the beginning of 2025.
"This is a milestone that reflects the incredible results we have experienced over the past few years.
"Due to the support and trust of our clients, we have outgrown our previous unit and are excited to expand our presence in East Lothian.
"This new office not only enables us to better serve our clients but also represents our commitment to continued investment in the East Lothian community.
"We look forward to deepening our roots here and helping more people find their perfect home.
“Our team has doubled in size whilst our property listings and sales have almost trebled this year."
