GENEROUS runners have helped raise more than £5,500 for a community group tackling social isolation.
Our Community Kitchen held a special fun run at Neilson Park in Haddington last month.
Elaine Gale, founder of the group, which brings people together to enjoyed a home-cooked meal at Haddington Bowling Club, was thrilled with the “incredible” £5,763.21 raised.
She said: “We all had such a wonderful day!
“Our community came out to run, walk, cycle and volunteer to support our community.
"We are very grateful for the support, which will help us to pay for the ever-increasing food, gas and electricity bills during the upcoming winter months.
“It means such a lot for people we welcome to know they can join us for warmth, company and a hot, fresh and nutritious meal.
“Thank you very much to everyone involved.”
