A WATER leak has forced the temporary closure of a charity’s shop in the centre of Haddington.
Cancer Research UK’s premises on the town’s High Street were impacted earlier this month.
Currently, it is unclear when the shop will reopen; customers are being urged to instead visit nearby branches in Musselburgh and North Berwick in the meantime.
Lucinda Baddeley-Marr, Cancer Research UK area manager, said: “Our shop at High Street, Haddington, is temporarily closed due to a water leak.
“We hope to complete repairs soon.
“We greatly value all our customers in East Lothian and the contribution they make towards helping fund vital research.
“Cancer Research UK would not be able to carry out its lifesaving work without our supporters, who both shop in our stores and who considerately make donations to them.
“Our research breakthroughs mean every day, people are being diagnosed earlier, have access to kinder and more effective treatments, and some cancers are prevented completely.”
The area manager also urged people to continue making donations but to instead visit the county’s other Cancer Research UK shops.
She said: “While we appreciate all donations, we do ask that they aren’t left outside the Haddington shop.
“We would ask instead that donations are dropped in to one of our stores nearby at High Street, Musselburgh, and High Street, North Berwick, which are both open for business as usual.”
