RESURFACING works on a busy road connecting Haddington and North Berwick get under way next week.

East Lothian Council anticipate that the works on the B1377/B1345, which runs through Drem, will take about a fortnight to complete.

A spokesperson for the local authority highlighted that the works were due to start on Tuesday.

The first phase of the works, which run from next Tuesday to next Friday (November 1), focuses on the western edge of the village.

Then, the second phase, which is due to take place the following week, will focus on the stretch of road towards the North Berwick end of the village.

The spokesperson said that one of the junctions off Village Green Road would be closed in each phase of the works.

They added: “The road [B1377) will remain open throughout works.

“There may be a time when traffic is paused to accommodate work; however, this will be managed by the team on site.

“Drivers are advised to expect delays and we are grateful for their patience.”
