RESIDENTS are being asked to put forward their views on what they think should be included at a proposed new playpark in Tranent.

The new proposed greenspace development is located on Lindores Drive and it is hoped to create a “challenging, exciting and inclusive play space for toddlers to teens”.

A consultation has been opened, encouraging members of the public to put forward their opinions about what should be included in the new park.

The play area will also feature benches and bins, as well as inclusive and accessible rubber safety surfacing on the ground.

Tranent Wombles have also been taking part in the consultation and have already begun planting bulbs in the space.

East Lothian Council has allocated Scottish Government Play Parks Renewal funding for the project.

The council's website reads: "We would like to ensure that the new Tranent Greenspace Play Area meets local needs and to involve people, particularly children and young people, in its development.

"This consultation gives opportunities for a range of play equipment options to be considered and prioritised, which we will aim to deliver within the budget available."

The Tranent Greenspace Play and Recreational Area consultation is open for responses from the public at eastlothianconsultations.co.uk/policy-partnerships/copy-of-copy-of-copy-of-memorial-park-sport-and-pl

The consultation closes on November 17.
