POM-POMS could soon be waving after a new cheer studio was given the go-ahead to open in Macmerry.
Competitive cheerleading team Rain Allstars plan to make the move to the new premises in Macmerry Industrial Estate after East Lothian Council approved the change of use.
The group currently practise at Musselburgh Sport Centre and have seen a lot of success, with a team competing at the World Championships in Florida for the past three years.
The new studio will be open Monday to Friday 5.30-9.30pm, and Saturday from 10am until 2pm.
Rain Allstars currently has one full-time coach and five part-time coaches, with about 140 athletes age six and above.

The planning officer’s report reads: “Those attending cheerleading training are predominantly of school age, meaning training sessions would be held in the evenings, weekends or school holidays.
"Given that no alterations are proposed externally to the property, the proposal would not harm the character or appearance of the existing building or that of the surrounding area."
No objections were received from members of the public.
