FORMER community police officer Gavin Ross is the final speaker in this season’s series of talks to East Lothian University of the Third Age (U3A).

The officer, who is now a specialist investigator in the National Wildlife Crime Unit, will meet with the group at Haddington’s Holy Trinity Church on November 6.

PC Ross previously worked in Dunbar and will explain his work, highlight that police rely on intelligence from the public and show this in action with a case study that shows how successful they can be when they receive intelligence and then work in partnership with other agencies, utilising the latest investigative techniques.

The talk gets under way at 2.30pm and is open to all, followed by refreshments.
