A SIGN measuring more than six metres in height and highlighting the creation of the Edinburgh Innovation Hub will be put in place beside the A1.
Work is already well under way on the multi-million-pound development, which will be built next to Musselburgh’s Queen Margaret University.
Once complete, the development will include a flexible laboratory, office and meeting and conference spaces for rent by high-growth, small to medium enterprises.
East Lothian Council planning officials gave approval to the V-shaped signs, which will measure a total of 6.6 metres in height and 4.8 metres in length.
The local authority’s road service was consulted about the application and made no objection.
The planning official’s report said: “It can therefore be reasonably concluded that, in their positions, the adverts would not and do not cause undue driver distraction or impede sightlines to the detriment of public safety.”
