Macplants Berrybank Nursery, near Boggs Holdings, north of Pencaitland, was founded by Beryl McNaughton in 1979 and has been run by the same family ever since, supplying a wide range of plants to trade clients and the public for its duration.
It has become Scotland’s largest producer of herbaceous perennials and alpines.
Now, according to Savills, which advertised the listing, the family who own the farm are currently planning for retirement and are looking for offers over £1,375,000.

The property for sale comprises a four-bedroomed house, shop, two paddocks, customer parking, glasshouse, plant preparation workshop, and outbuildings providing storage with additional land set adjacent forming two separate paddocks.
The house, a bungalow, comes with two bathrooms, along with a study, large kitchen, sitting room, family room and a utility room which has its own private gardens.
The description left by Savills reads: "Macplants plant nursery extends to an area comprising 0.86 hectares (2.12 acres) in total, forming an area roughly rectangular in shape and relatively level in gradient for the plant beds and structures provided for plant cultivation, propagation and storage.
