THE outgoing chairperson of Dunbar Civic Week has been thanked for their efforts.

Sanchita Patjoshi was involved with the annual celebration for six years and led the small group of volunteers for three years.

However, she has announced that she will be stepping down, with a meeting to be held in the next few weeks to find her successor.

She said: “I’ve absolutely loved it. It is what I like to do and be part of the community.”

Mrs Patjoshi, who works in procurement with Tarmac, highlighted work commitments as among the reasons for stepping back.

Pippa Swan, chairwoman of Dunbar Community Council, thanked Mrs Patjoshi for her efforts at the event, which took place from June 8 to 16.

She said: “She has been absolutely wonderful.

“She has been on the committee since 2019 and been chair for the last few years.

“Her and the small team spend a huge amount of time each year planning and prepping for it.

“Everybody who goes and enjoys a Civic Week event appreciates how much effort her and the team put in.

“She will be big shoes to fill.”
