A PECULIAR-LOOKING traffic light in East Lothian, shaped like a love heart, has brought smiles from passers-by.
The red light at temporary traffic lights on Clifford Road, North Berwick – where SP Energy Networks is currently carrying out roadworks – is displaying in the shape of a heart.
At about 9am on Monday, passer-by John Bendiks spotted the unusually shaped traffic light and told the Courier it had made him and his partner "smile".

John and his partner Lesley, residents of Dunbar, were heading to Archerfield when they spotted the heart-shaped traffic light.
He told the Courier: "It made us smile and made us wonder who did it."
An SP Energy Networks spokesperson said: “We have been working on Clifford Road over the past four weeks to install a new, high voltage underground cable as part of wider investment works in the North Berwick area.
"This work will provide more capacity on the electricity network so more of our customers can adopt low carbon technologies like electric vehicles, solar panels and heat pumps.
“We will be working on Clifford Road until the end of October and, whilst the traffic light has clearly been showing some love, we will get our contractors to check the lights as soon as possible. We would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding as we complete these necessary works and apologise for any disruption caused.”
