FUNDING has been secured for a year-long project to encourage young people to learn new skills.

MADE in East Lothian will launch Make Create Reuse next month.

The scheme is aimed at people aged 16-25 and promises to teach new skills and share ideas about reuse and positive action for community, wellbeing and climate.

Funding has been secured through the National Lottery Awards for All Scotland, which means that the workshops can be offered free of charge.

A spokesperson for MADE in East Lothian, which is based in Haddington, encouraged people to book their space at the workshops, which run from 2pm to 4pm.

They said: “We're kicking off with a short block of four workshops on Friday afternoons in November 2024.

“The theme is, of course, Christmas!

“Participants will be able to create their own unique (and rather stylish) decorations and gifts for free.”

The first workshop is next Friday (November 1) and, for more information, go to madeineastlothian.org
