EAST Lothian Council has paid tribute to former First Minister Alex Salmond.
The former MP and MSP died yesterday (Saturday) after becoming ill at an event in North Macedonia.
East Lothian Council has confirmed the saltire flag will fly at half mast at the local authority's headquarters at John Muir House in Haddington.

Councillor John McMillan, East Lothian Council’s Provost, led the tributes.
He said: “Alex Salmond leaves behind a significant legacy on the Scottish political landscape as one of our best known figures.
"While we may not always have been aligned on matters of policy, his incomparable impact through decades of commitment to public service will be rightly recorded as part of our nation’s history.”
