MORE than 50 people from a town in France will visit Dunbar to celebrate a 30-year link between the two areas.
Dunbar and district began twinning with Lignieres in 1994 and many friendships have been established during the several visits between the two towns.
To celebrate the milestone, a delegation of 56 people from Lignieres and the surrounding villages will visit Dunbar from October 24 to 29.
They will be staying with various families in the area, many of them with hosts who they have known well over the years.

A spokesperson for Dunbar and District Twinning Association said: “There will be a full programme of events for the visitors and their hosts, to include a civic reception, tours of John Muir Birthplace, and an afternoon of pétanque.
“To mark the 30th anniversary, there will be a tree planting ceremony in Lauderdale Park on October 26.
“For some of the visitors, it will be their first trip to Scotland, and so every effort will be made to give them the very best of Dunbar hospitality.”
In 2015, the link between the two towns was cemented in Dunbar with the naming of a new street.
Lignieres Way is part of the development at Hallhill, south of the East Coast Main Line.
