MORE than £4,000 has been raised for charity through a tee-riffic golf fundraiser.

The Babe Zaharias charity day was held at Dunbar’s Winterfield Golf Club in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support under East Lothian Ladies Golf Association.

The event collected a total of £4,170.

A spokesperson for the event said: “Thank you again to everyone who volunteered and helped support the charity day.

“Thanks again to the sponsors, Paris Steele and Belhaven Brewery Friday night fun golf.”

Mildred ‘Babe’ Didrikson Zaharias was an American athlete who excelled in a variety of sports.

She won two golds and a silver in track and field at the 1932 Summer Olympics before going on to become a successful professional golfer, winning 10 LPGA major championships.
