A MAN was struck by a gas canister after it was thrown from the window of a flat above, a court heard.
James Thomson threw the small can of gas from the first floor window of his former home on Goose Green Avenue, Musselburgh, on April 18.
Thomson struck passing pedestrian Keith Bryan on the body with the projectile and he was subsequently reported to the police.
Thomson, now of Wemyss Place, Wallyford, admitted the offence when he appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Wednesday and was fined £110.
The court was told that the 56-year-old committed the offence while on bail for a separate offence.
