ILLUSIONIST and television personality Uri Geller has congratulated an amateur football team on reaching the third round of a national cup competition.
North Berwick enjoyed a 3-1 win over Gartcosh United in the Only Sport Scottish Amateur Cup on Saturday.
And the success, which saw strikes from Ruaridh Miller, Mathew Cannon and Dan Gallagher, prompted Geller, who has previously shown his support for the club, to take to social media to cheer them on once again.

Taking to social media, he said: “Hey Lambies, well done, well done, well done.
“An incredible win, a big hug from me, positive energy and go for it!
“Always stay in a positive mental attitude all the time.
“Hopefully, we will meet very soon and I will have a chance someday to invite you all here to the Holy Land, to Israel, and we will all meet.”

Geller, who shot to fame in the 1970s, purchased Lamb Island, off the coast of North Berwick for £30,000 in 2009, with the belief it held a mystical connection with ancient Egypt and hidden buried treasure.
Two years ago, he sought to declare the island as the Republic of Lamb, a micronation, while also noting his desire to start a football team.
An unlikely link was then formed between North Berwick Amateurs FC and Geller.
