TRANENT and Elphinstone Community Council (TECC) is seeking five new representatives to fill vacancies.

The community council meets on the third Tuesday of every month at 7pm in Tranent Day Centre, with every fourth meeting taking place in Elphinstone Community Centre.

TECC, which deals with a range of issues affecting residents, is now looking for three representatives from Tranent and two from Elphinstone.

Applicants should be 16 or over and live, work, own/lease property in the respective areas or be registered as a local government elector in the last 12 months.

Anyone interested should send an email to tecc.secretary@aol.com with their phone number included.

The next meeting of the community council is its annual general meeting, taking place on Tuesday.

This will be Mike Falconer’s final engagement in the role of chairperson as he steps down following a decade of involvement.
