THE first of this session’s family learning events was enjoyed at Wallyford’s Rosehill High School.
About 100 P7 and S1 pupils, along with their families, attended.
The aim of the events is to support parents’ understanding of how the school approaches the curriculum and how parents can work with young people to help them be successful learners.
There was a variety of activities, including team games in outdoor learning, spotting hazards in food and health, detective work in languages and literacy, and plenty of Bunsen burners in science.
The school said: “Feedback from parent evaluations of the event included noting how friendly and enthusiastic the staff are, the amazing facilities and the joy of being able to connect with a child approaching ‘a difficult age’. Further family learning events for this session will include a study skills programme in November and inputs around supporting mental health in February.”
