AN EAST Lothian couple are set to open up a permanent doughnut premises in the county.
Craig O'Neill, 34 and Rebecca Steel, 30, met while working together at North Berwick's Herringbone in 2020, where Craig was a manager at the time, before the Covid-19 pandemic struck.
During lockdown, the duo moved in together in Dunbar and tried a few doughnut recipes.
At the time "they were pretty rubbish", Craig told the Courier.
But they made it their mission to perfect the recipe.

Craig, originally from Haddington, and Rebecca, from North Berwick, worked hard on their recipes and soon found a canny knack for baking the sugary-ringed treat so many people enjoy on a daily basis.
During that time, Rebecca worked for Graze Coffee & Chocolate House on Dunbar High Street and started selling the doughnuts.
They were an instant hit and, before the couple knew it, they were delivering about 400 doughnuts around the county seven days a week.
Now working from a shipping container in East Linton and doing weekly pop-ups on Edinburgh's Castle Terrace and Grassmarket, the couple run a full-time, fully-fledged business, Seriously Dough – and say that the new shop they are opening at whynot? on North Berwick High Street is a "dream come true".
The shop is set to open on Friday, October 18. It will be open Monday to Saturday, 10am-5pm, and 10am-4pm on Sundays.
"We are really looking forward to having our own premises and making our own stamp on the place," Craig told the Courier.
"Seriously Dough does doughnuts, bagels, milkshakes and coffees, and the shop is a dream come true."
He added: "Both of us started during the first lockdown, doing it from home, and it has just spiralled since then.
"We then moved to an old shipping container in East Linton from 2022 where we have been producing the doughnuts from.
"We have now moved out of there and we've done loads of markets in Edinburgh, galas in East Lothian, along with farmers' markets."
The Courier was invited to try Seriously Dough's tasty treats – keep an eye on our site for an upcoming review!
