A FOOTPATH connecting Prestonpans and Musselburgh is to be resurfaced at at cost of £34,000, giving people another "safe route" between the towns.
The path, opposite Sam Burns' Yard on the B1348, will receive the funds from Preston Seton Gosford Area Partnership.
The works, approved by the partnership, will span 200 metres along the B1348, aiming to improve the footpath for pedestrians and cyclists.

"The John Muir Way is fabulous but this means pedestrians and cyclists can choose another safe route between the town of Musselburgh and Prestonpans, especially now the days are getting shorter."
Ben Morse, chair of the area partnership, said: "Following a request from East Lothian Council for community input into selection between four possible locations for resurfacing work, Preston Seton Gosford Area Partnership members voted to select the resurfacing of the footway of the B1348. This took place at the September 11 meeting.
