A DATE has been set for the first ever Prestonpans Community Council awards, which aim to praise the unsung heroes of the town.
In August, the Courier reported that the Pride of Prestonpans Award scheme had been launched, but now, as nominations are complete, the community council has confirmed the date, time and venue.
The award ceremony will be held on November 22, 7-9pm in Prestonpans Community Centre on Preston Road.

DJ Johnston-Smith, chair of Prestonpans Community Council, said: "The entire community council is very much looking forward to hosting the inaugural Pride of Prestonpans Awards event in the community centre in November, as we celebrate those special individuals and groups that go above and beyond the call for our town.
"We are also incredibly excited to see the three trophies that local artist Andrew Crummy is producing for each award category: organisation, adult and young person.
"These will be unveiled for the first time on the night, more details about which will appear on our Facebook page soon."
