A RESTAURANT and cocktail bar which will create 60 new jobs when it opens in East Lothian later this year is getting ready to hold a recruitment drive.
Earlier this year, the Courier reported that the former M&Co on Musselburgh High Street was set to be transformed into a new restaurant, after East Lothian Council approved the plans from Buzzworks, the company behind The Herringbone in North Berwick, as well as other venues in Ayrshire, Edinburgh, Greenock and Linlithgow.
At the time, the plans said the restaurant, named Lido, would provide "close to 130 covers" and would be similar to other Buzzworks restaurants in Troon and Prestwick.
Last week, Buzzworks officially revealed that it was to open Lido, a café, bar and restaurant at 166 / 174 High Street which will create 60 new jobs for the town.

Recruitment days are now taking place at the restaurant for a range of roles next Thursday (October 3) between 11am and 5pm, and next Friday (October 4) from 1pm to 7pm.
An exact opening date for the new eatery has not yet been confirmed, but Buzzworks said that it would be "opening this winter".
On the new restaurant's website, it states: "Opening this winter, Lido will be the perfect spot for laid-back eating and drinking in the heart of Musselburgh.
"With its warm and welcoming interior, state-of-the-art pizza oven and a dedicated 'to go' counter, Lido looks set to make an even bigger splash. We’d love you to join us."
Vivien Bryan, resourcing partner at Buzzworks, said: “Lido is set to bring a taste of the continental café life to Musselburgh, serving delicious food and drinks, all day long.
“With that said, we’re thrilled to be expanding our team in the east of Scotland and can’t wait to welcome even more people who are passionate about hospitality to the Buzzworks family.
“We have a whole host of front-of-house and mid to senior management level roles available and are seeking people who are passionate about delivering outstanding guest experiences and are skilled in inspiring and motivating their teams to join us.
“What’s more, we have plenty of exciting opportunities in our kitchen and would urge talented chefs with excellent culinary skills and confident leadership skills, who are passionate about food and creating exceptional dishes for our guests to enjoy, to join our team.”
“We hope our recruitment events will give anyone who is interested in working at Lido a chance to learn more about the roles on offer while providing them with a taste of what life at Buzzworks is like. We’re so excited to meet all the potential candidates.”
