AN AWARD-WINNING business has added to its trophy haul after collecting a prize at the Speciality & Fine Food Fair 2024.

The Cheese Lady has been honoured with the coveted Small Independent Retailer Award at the ceremony.

Winners were announced at a special live event in London earlier this month.

“Winning this award is not just a celebration for our team, but also our amazing customers,” said Svetlana Kukharchuk, founder of the business on Haddington’s Court Street.

“It’s recognition of the care and dedication we put into curating the finest artisan cheeses, ensuring our customers experience them at their absolute best.

“We believe in offering more than just cheese — we aim to provide moments of joy, opportunities to slow down, savour life and connect with loved ones.

“Being named the best Small Independent Retailer inspires us to continue elevating our customers’ experience, bringing even more ways to enjoy and celebrate real food.”

The business was founded on the town’s High Street in 2017 before moving to larger premises.

It has proven a popular addition to the town and offers more than 100 farmhouse and artisan cheeses from throughout Britain and Europe.
