ATTENDEES who headed along to a relaunch event for a well-known East Lothian festival which had fallen off the calendar have "raised spirits", organisers have said.

On Saturday, a relaunch event for the 3 Harbours Arts Festival was held at Port Seton Harbour, with organisers estimating that about 1,000 people made it along.

The festival had not been held for several years, most recently taking place online in 2021 due to Covid-19 restrictions – and last year it was "at the point of closure" as it struggled to find committee members.

The Courier caught up with Adele Conn, one of the original founders of the festival, who was there all day long between 11am and 5pm on Saturday, and said that there was a "great turnout" at the event.

She told the Courier: "It was just amazing to see so many people attend the relaunch event, we think around 1,000 people came to Port Seton Harbour.

"We had a steady flow of people during the event and had a great turnout for the artworks, music and storytelling.

"It was just so heart-warming and seeing so many people coming along was nostalgic, we had young and the elderly turn out, and it really has raised spirits.

"We now need to put in the hard work to make it happen."

Organisers are now hoping to make a full comeback by holding the festival in June next year.

Dates for the fully fledged 3 Harbours Arts Festival are yet to be confirmed.
