AN 86-YEAR-OLD woman has died following a collision with a van in a car park in East Lothian. 

At about 10.40am on Sunday, police and an air ambulance were called to the car park at Seton Sands Holiday Park, near Port Seton, after a pedestrian was struck by a van.

The 86-year-old female pedestrian was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, where she later died.

Haven, the operators of Seton Sands Holiday Park, confirmed to the Courier that the woman who died was a owner of a caravan at the complex. 

The woman's family are aware.

The 45-year-old male driver of the white Vauxhall Combo van was not injured.

Police are now appealing for information following the incident. 

Dominic Doyle, sergeant,  said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who has died.

"Enquiries are ongoing and I would like to speak to any residents or holidaymakers who were in the area around this time and may have seen what happened.

“I am also appealing for anyone with relevant dash-cam or any other footage to get in touch on 101, quoting incident 1226 of Sunday, September 22, 2024.”

A spokesperson for Haven, the company responsible for Seton Sands, said: “We are extremely saddened to hear of the passing of one of our owners and our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.

"We will continue to support them however we can."
