A BLOOMING great result has been toasted by a town’s community council.
Blooming Haddington scooped four prizes at the Beautiful Scotland awards earlier this month.
The green-fingered volunteers returned from Aberdeen with the Medium Town Award, the David Welch Memorial Award for Something Special (for Amisfield Walled Garden), the Haddington 700 Award (for St Mary’s Pleasance) and also received a gold certificate.
Haddington and District Community Council held its first meeting since June just days afterwards and highlighted the group’s success.

Theresa Laing, chairwoman of the community council, said: “I think we should begin the meeting by congratulating Blooming Haddington on their gold award for Best Medium Town.
“Well done to Blooming Haddington – they always do an excellent job.
“The town always looks so bright and colourful.”
