A MAN who once tried to take his own life is now launching a new group for men to get together and talk about their mental health.
Scott Wylie, owner of construction company Fat Box Skim, is starting the project to create a space for men to chat with other men who are going through similar struggles.
The first session takes place tomorrow evening (Tuesday), from 7pm to 8pm, and the new group will then be running weekly from Volunteer Centre East Lothian (VCEL), located on Tranent High Street.
The get-together is open to men over the age of 16 and is free to join.
Scott said: “Just getting over that mental barrier and actually turning up is everybody’s price to pay.”

Following a suicide attempt for which he received CPR from the police two years ago, Scott now wants to use his own experiences to help other people.
His Facebook post announcing the group received a large amount of likes and comments, and Scott says that the response has been “unbelievable”.
He said: “I hope this means that people follow through and it’s not just me sitting on my own on Tuesday!
“People have been messaging to say that they’re looking forward to it and a couple of guys have actually changed their shifts so that they can make it, which is good to hear.”
Scott added: “No matter what you’re going through, know that people care.
“I hope to see some of you [go along to the meeting].”
VCEL has offered a room free of charge for the group, and Scott is encouraging men to turn up and talk about mental health.
