COMMUNITY groups have worked hard to transform a broken bench in North Berwick.
Located at Ware Road Bridge, the bench was previously worn down, with the back disintegrated on one side and splinters of wood exposed.
North Berwick Men’s Shed, with support from East Lothian Council and assistance from the Bass Rock Community Group, renovated the bench earlier this month and it is now fit for purpose again.
The group of volunteers removed all the wood, filled in parts and then sanded it down flat.
Bass Rock Community Group members painted the new wood and removed rust from the metal frame before the Men’s Shed put it back together to finish off the project and reveal the bench looking as good as new for the community.
