OPPORTUNITIES to work in the construction of a new wind farm in the Lammermuir Hills will be outlined at an event on Thursday.
A chance to meet the team from Fred. Olsen Renewables and primary contractor RJ McLeod is offered at Dunbar’s Bleachingfield Centre, 2-4pm.
Fred. Olsen Renewables commenced construction of Crystal Rig IV Wind Farm, which will be home to 11 turbines, in July.
They are working with Scottish civil engineering contractor RJ McLeod to try to ensure that the local supply chain is involved in the delivery of the project.
Local businesses are invited to register for the events and can do so by visiting www.crystalrigwindfarm.co.uk to find out more.
Opportunities exist for local businesses who specialise in a variety of industries, ranging from local food and drink to small plant hire businesses to civil contractors and crane operators.
Ottar Cato Olsen, project manager for Crystal Rig IV, said: “Events like this are a great way for us to get out and meet the local supply chain.
“We know there are lots of local businesses in the area with a variety of skill sets that come into the delivery of our projects, and having the time set aside to meet them is really valuable.
“Working with the local community, which very much includes the business community, is at the heart of how we deliver projects.”
The first phase of Crystal Rig, which has been operational for more than 20 years, contained 25 turbines.
Since then, a further 66 have been added in two phases.
