PLANS for glamping pods at Boggs Holdings have been withdrawn.

The proposed development would have, according to those behind the scheme, provided “an excellent option for visitors to retreat and access everything the area has to offer in all seasons”.

However, it was confirmed last Tuesday that S A Fairgrieve Ltd’s plans for the site had been withdrawn.

According to the proposals, the “high-quality” single-storey pods would have been in “harmony” with the surrounding landscape.

Ralph Averbuch, acting chairman of Pencaitland Community Council, which also covers nearby Boggs Holdings, confirmed that discussions had taken place after the plans were initially submitted in February.

He said: “I know it was causing a lot of discussion among the residents up in Boggs Holdings.

“Some people were very supportive of it and many were very, very against it.

“It was certainly, at a local level, quite controversial.”

A spokesperson for the agent representing S A Fairgrieve Ltd told the Courier that a new application would be submitted in the near future.
