HISTORIC Newhailes House at Musselburgh has been recreated in LEGO.
More than 1,000 visitors flocked to the National Trust for Scotland attraction to enjoy the LEGO Masterbuild.
The event was led by Warren Elsmore, an artist in LEGO bricks and a lifelong fan of LEGO.
Over 13 hours, 20,000 bricks used to build the house.
Dixie Sudron, visitor services manager at Newhailes, said: “It was a really lovely and happy event that brought together a great mix of adults and children who were keen LEGO enthusiasts. The weather was excellent, which was a nice change, and it was phenomenal to see Newhailes House come to life in LEGO form.
“It was amazing to have Warren Elsmore involved and see his vision for creating the house with LEGO bricks. He was also delighted that it was his shortest ever commute, as he lives very nearby in Midlothian.”
Newhailes, which dates back to the 17th century, is a Palladian house that played a prominent role in the Scottish Enlightenment and was once the home of the Dalrymple family.
According to LEGO, the name is an abbreviation of the two Danish words ‘leg godt’, meaning ‘play well’.
