LIFE could be breathed into a derelict cottage missing its roof.
Plans have been drawn up to bring the former Post Office, on Innerwick’s Barns Ness Terrace, back to life as a short-term holiday let.
The building is shown on maps dating back to the mid-1800s but has been uninhabited for a number of years.
Now, with the building “in a state of dilapidation”, Robert Woodhead hopes to restore the building.
Proposals lodged with East Lothian Council look at creating holiday accommodation for two people.
Off-street parking would be created for a vehicle, along with refuse storage and a new safe pedestrian access.
Drawings included with the planning application show a kitchen, shower room and living area on the ground floor.
Upstairs would then feature a “sleeping deck”.
Details about the proposed business model for the building are also revealed.
A document included with the application reads: “The cottage will be available for one to three nights per booking.
“The cottage will be available to let year round.
“During spring and summer, moderate occupancy is anticipated and light occupancy during the autumn and winter seasons, with the cottage occupied around 34 weeks of the year.
“The cottage will be managed and cleaned by the owner.”
