DISCUSSIONS about the Siege of Haddington, spectacular flower displays and live music will all be on offer at a historic Haddington church.
St Mary’s Parish Church is taking part in this year’s Doors Open Days.
The annual event offers people the chance to see behind the doors of historic and interesting venues across the country.
On September 28 and 29, East Lothian, Edinburgh, Inverclyde and North Lanarkshire are among the areas taking part.
Events take place at the Sidegate church from 11am to 4pm next Saturday (September 28) and 1.30pm to 4pm the following day.
A special display will celebrate the 475th anniversary of the end of the Siege of Haddington, while there will also be a talk and walk round the outside of the church looking for damage from the Siege.
On Saturday, there will also be the chance to visit the belfry and try bell-ringing.
The following day, Dr Jon Cooper will highlight the history of the Siege of Haddington at the church, neighbouring Holy Trinity Church and there will be a wreath-laying ceremony at Lady Kitty’s Garden.
