ONE of the biggest responses we’ve had from Down Memory Lane readers came earlier this year when we featured some of the county’s train stations of yesteryear... before ‘modernisation’ and the impact of the 1963 Beeching Report, which closed more than 2,000 stations across Britain and 5,000 miles of track.
