GLENKINCHIE Distillery has been named as one of the top three whisky experiences in Scotland.
The distillery, near Pencaitland, was recognised by Milroy’s Whisky Travel Index, a specialist retailer, which ranked more than 50 whisky tourism destinations across the country.
The distillery was praised for its visitor satisfaction, range of experiences, quality of whisky, local amenities and surroundings.
It scored 83.97 out of 100, placing it third in the survey.
Jocelyn Williamson, experience and events manager at Glenkinchie, said: "It’s wonderful to be recognised as one of the top three Scotch distilleries in Scotland.
"We take immense pride in everything Glenkinchie has to offer—from our picturesque East Lothian location and beautiful gardens to the fantastic range of experiences available to our visitors.
“We’ve had such lovely feedback from guests who have visited us since we reopened following the investment, and we’d encourage anyone from the local area who hasn’t had the chance to pop in yet to come and see us for a coffee, cocktail or tour so we can show you around.”
The index evaluated each venue across 15 criteria, based on more than 80,000 visitor reviews.
Glenkinchie Distillery reopened in 2020 following a £185 million investment in whisky tourism by Diageo.
The distillery now offers eight immersive tours, showcasing its landscape and whisky, which has light, floral and grassy notes.
Visitors can enjoy local produce, a range of cocktails or relax with coffee and cake while admiring the gardens.
The Lowland Bar also offers a selection of alcohol-free options, including mocktails for drivers.
