THE owner of a vehicle with more than a dozen parking tickets left on its windshield is being sought by the council.
The silver Vauxhall Insignia has been parked for more than a fortnight on North Berwick's Forth Street, where daytime vehicle 'waiting' is restricted.
Bizarrely, the Courier has been told that not all of the parking tickets on the car relate to that vehicle, though some are thought to.
An East Lothian Council spokesperson said: “We are attempting to contact the owner [of the vehicle]; however, as this is a matter of enforcement, it would not be appropriate to comment further at this stage.”
Kenny Miller, chair of North Berwick Community Council, said: "It does make you wonder why the person has left their car there for so long.
"If it is parked illegally then surely they must realise they will get booked and it makes you wonder where the owner is, but I really don't know."
In April last year, East Lothian Council raised the price of parking enforcement, with charges currently now standing at £100 but reduced to £50 if paid within two weeks.
