AN EAST Lothian golf course played host to an autism charity's annual golf day as it raised a record-breaking sum for services in the region.
Hosted by Scottish rugby legend Scott Hastings, Scottish Autism's event at Craigielaw Golf Club raised £16,126.59, which will assist the charity's Lothian services in making necessary facility upgrades to better support people with autism.
A total of 25 teams took part in a Texas Scramble round at the annual golf day, organised in partnership with SG Pro Cleaning.
The money raised was donated by participants across the golf, raffle and silent auction, surpassing last year's record by £1,500.
Dorry McLaughlin, chief executive at Scottish Autism, said: "We are delighted with the money that has been raised via our annual golf day.
"The funds raised will be hugely beneficial to our Lothian services and will help to support the financing of an upgrade to the facilities which will enable the autistic people we support to get the best out of the time that they spend with us."
Douglas Smith, managing director of SG Pro Cleaning, said: "It was great to hear on the day how the money raised will go towards supporting the upgrade of their Lothian services and will bring real benefits to the people who access the service."
