PRESTONPANS' war memorial has scooped a top accolade from Legion Scotland.
The war memorial, located on High Street at Civic Square ,was included in the winners of the Legion's annual Best Kept War Memorial Competition for 2024.
The Prestonpans memorial won the category of Large Community without Gardens.
Legion Scotland announced the winners on its social media accounts, saying: "Thanks to the efforts of local volunteers, councils, Legion Scotland members and others within the community who take pride in looking after their memorial and ensuring it looks its best."
On social media, Prestonpans Royal British Legion welcomed the award win, adding: "Big thanks goes out to everyone that keeps the square tidy and looks after the planters."
Prestonpans Community Council was also delighted, saying on social media: "Some lovely news about a new award for our town's beautiful Civic Square.
"A huge thank you to the 'Pans Legion for donating the two planters on either side of the William Birnie Rhind sculpture and to Prestonpans Bloomers, who maintain and fundraise to replace the flowers in both planters and on troughs in the nearby railings."
