A BID for a holiday let in the garden of a property in Dunbar has been approved after receiving backing from the town’s community council.
East Lothian Council’s planning department approved James Forrester’s plans for the ground to the rear of the property on Colvin Street.
Drawings with the application show a one-bedroom property, with an open plan kitchen and lounge area.
The planning officer’s report noted that the building would “not appear as a prominent feature from any public views”.
It was also noted that Dunbar Community Council supported the plans in their “entirety”.
The report reads: “They mention that, knowing the area well, they consider that the property would be discrete behind the wall and can foresee no road safety issues in relation to the proposed parking area.”
A condition was imposed by the local authority to ensure that the premises were used as short-term holiday accommodation.
